Description

here you see the bronze casters. they too use a metal trash can to melt the bronze. You see them picking it up and getting ready to pore into a cast they made for two days. now it time for 2000* degrees I can not spell fairinhigth lol. anyway it hot. The bootom image is what they use to melt the bronze in. forgot what metal it is. Got more of these on http://www.morguefile.com/ where I am photojock there. I be uploading some images of these two from 2006 I took of them. thanks for looking and comments

Very interesting shots Jocko, I'm amazed that they got those temps usung a trash can. I used to fire bricks at 1100 to 1300 degrees when I worked in the brick yard, and I used to think that was HOT. This is way over the top from that, mind you I was baking them not trying to melt them.Lol. Excellent capture, especially the bottom one of the graphite pot, I have some in my gallery of men pouring iron into moulds but they used sand moulds not wax, not the same sort of detail is required though. Superb work. Bravo!!!!!

The white stuff in the trash cans is probably refractory cement. The metal container they're melting the bronze in is called a crucible. What I remember most about molten metal is the SMELL! It's like nothing else. Wonderful shots!
