Description

This shot was taken this afternoon at Loggerheads, near Mold, North Wales. I had gone out to practice with some long exposure water shots, which would have been a lot easier if I'd have remembered to take the quick-release attachment for my tripod! Instead I had to make do with trying to balance the camera on top of the tripod as best as I could and try to keep very still! lol! So, the image probably isn't as sharp as it should've been - but it's part of a learning curve. This was taken in between rain downpours which has created the dark and stormy looking atmosphere. Thanks for looking and any comments and critique are more than welcome and valued!!

It gives me a way to exercise a totally different kind of forgetfulness, Carl. Like gazing into the flames of a crackling fire, it would be a pleasure to gaze on this endlessly churning water, to be totally absorbed there, and to be able to forget some daily stresses. This is a great shot.

I saw this and it reminded me of something that I heard a long, long time ago. Beside a Babbling Brook I'd be more than satisfied if I could hide Away beside a babbing brook. Rippling waters call me far away to a quiet shady nook. Through the woods I long to hike To linger where the world is like a stor-y-book. Like a lazy daisy gazing at the sky, Let me live and love and let the world go by. I'd be more than satisfied If I could hide Away beside a babbling brook. Aris Kahn, 1923 I think the photo fits these words to perfection Carl. As for the quich release for the tripod, mine is always attached to the camera, so if I forget the quick release plate, I don't get any pics at all that day. You did exceptionally well to balance the camera, for such a long exposure and still retain a certain amount of sharpness. Superb work. Bravo!!!!!

As always you have impressed me Carl! I have been trying for ages to achieve the long exposure shots for fast flowing water but have never achieved such results (usually well over-exposed!) You have done a brilliant job under difficult conditions and I actually like the darkened surroundings that is provided by the woods this river runs through - you have captured the atmosphere of the River Allen and Loggerheads Wood perfectly. You are forever an inspiration to me, your will to succeed leaves me in awe - out with the camera and tripod I think!!!! A brilliant capture babe. Hugs Chrissy xox
