Description

All rendered in Vue but there's alot of postwork so I put this in Mixed Media. It's not historically correct but it's the closest genre to put this in. Credits: Xurge dragon warrior outfit, M3, Daz knights, free sword (sorry, don't know who made it). Thank you to all the people who view my art and leave such kind and generous comments. I know it's hard to find the time to do, so it's greatly appreciated. ****** Side note ***** Update on Daniel - This is an email that Roger (my brother) sent to the family and his boss about Dan's progress after being in Houston, TX at the Anderson Medical facility. Thank you again for all your prayers. I'm so grateful to this community. *It's ongoing. Dan is hooked up to a battery powered back-pack pump that infuses 15 CC's an hour. We have to take him back to the hospital each day for the next four days to give him a new bag of drugs. So, that's 120 hours of continuous drugs. That takes him to noon on Tuesday, and then he gets 24 more hours of stuff to help keep his kidneys from turning into hamburger. Then he gets a drug that will help his blood counts (and hence, his immune system) recover faster, and then another doctor meeting before we head home. That would be next Thursday or Friday. Nice thing about this, if there is one, is that he doesn't need to be admitted into the hospital on this. In one month he has to go through this same routine again, and then he'll get re-evaluated by the Dr. Anderson here in TX (unclear at this point if we'll come here for that or not - regardless, in late May) to see how effective the chemo is. If it's working, he'll have probably two more rounds (two more months) of this (which should be able to be done in WI). Then we can see if radiation makes sense, and then he'll also need to have heart surgery because the tumor thrombus appears to have spread into the right atrium of his heart - in addition to his jugular and a large tumor in his right lung. But none of that matters if this chemo doesn't start killing the disease. So we're just trying to stay positive and appreciate every day we have. We really like this Dr. Anderson. Like I said last night, he's not promising miracles, but he has a definitive plan and know exactly how to approach this.

I wasn't aware that a member of your family is fighting for his life... I'm not sure if it means something to him but I send a warm "Gute Besserung" from Germany and I wish you all the power that you need to get over this time of fear!

You art is wonderful as usual. For me, the most impressive part of this image is the ground textures/grass and blood stains. They are fantastically realistic.

As to the picture's theme, it shows that for all the advances in technology, war's effects on the soldier remain the same. Also seems like an appropriate expression of how Dan and his folks must be feeling at this stage of the struggle. (Also brings back vivid memories of my own twin brother's struggle with a fast-acting cancer.)

As I said before, It's so sad that a anyone must endure such harsh treatments to battle for one's life. I'm sending my best wishes that the treatments prove effective and this young man has a chance at real life. Excellent image too Nancy. It's a shame, but also a natural law, that one must always fight and struggle to live. Very appropiate image. Bravo and hugs from Dave :^)
