Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

The old Southeast can sometimes do that to you, Marilyn. It's all of the gracious charm and the people, there.

Having got to know you, your next adventure won't be that long in coming. Excellent prose and so very true. Superb work. Bravo!!!!!

I can definitely sympathize with this! Travel brings so much, and you can always carry it with you, inside your mind and heart. Your words here are incredibly touching and true, and I love the straightforward manner in which you state this! It's the kinda stuff I love to read! I agree with JeffG7BRJ in that your next adventure won't be far away. Once you start, who knows where you'll wind up...maybe even in Prague or Moscow! :-)

A most poignant tableau of feelings, Marilyn. Although, if you really want to feel melancholy, just check out the cost of food and gasoline, and the invasion of our country by illegal aliens.

true blues . cool words

I know you too well to be concerned about a little melancholy. Enjoy the "down" side too - it highlights what a good time you had, and adds layers of meaning and experience to your time there.
