Description

A recurring character from the Twilight Blades, a D&D Forgotten Realms campaign set in Aglarond. “She stepped into view, as if she had stepped right out of the ancient oak, her wild mane as vivid green as the summer leaves, and her emerald eyes bright with mischief. “Welcome travelers!” she greeted them, with a cheerful voice, “I am Daenarah… and this is my domain!” She swept her arms wide in a gesture that encompassed the woods about them. Courynn and Talice exchanged a brief glance of excited recognition, while a knowing smile turned Nymara’s lips, and Rynard looked about in alarm and confusion… but Cosar’s eyes roamed over the scantly clad, stunningly beautiful fae with clear admiration. “Well met, spirit of the tree,” Courynn greeted her in a warm, but formal voice. “We are fiends of the forest, and promise not to harm any with in your domain,” Talice added, her excitement clear. “Were you not friends of the forest,” Daenarah replied, “we would not be meeting so cordial… and you would be fleeing in terror. But, there is no need for such dark tidings… I offer you rest and comfort.” She turned and gestured for them the settle around the base of the great oak. As they seated themselves on the soft forest floor, Nymara quietly explained to Rynard and Cosar. “She is a dryad, the fae spirit of that tree.” Rynard regarded Daenarah with a look of wonder, marveling at the magic that gave a simple tree such life and spirit... while Cosar continued to stare lustfully, and whispered to the mage. “This is truly a magical forest… first its stone circles yield elven beauties form another realm… now its trees produce fae spirits just as stunning… I can’t wait to see what it has in store for us next!”” As a dryad, the spirit of an ancient oak, Daenarah is as old as the Yuirwood itself, but is bond to stay in the heart of the forest, not able to wander far from her tree. Insatiably curious about the world beyond her reach, she welcomes visitors of good nature, willingly sharing the history she has witnessed in exchange for news. But to those who would despoil the woods, she can be a dark and merciless foe. Daenarah has long been a friend to the Twilight Blades, offering them comfort, healing, and occasionally useful information, when ever they visit her small domain of the vast forest. As a fellow druid of Mielikki, she has a developed a close friendship with Talice, seeing her almost as a younger sister. Tax season is over... and I finally had enough time to finish this one! Fantastic image! Love her expression and pose - a mischevious mix of imp and faerie (maybe even a little flirt?) And I have to say I love the tale you have going with each of the Twilight Blades images...superb storytelling. Five stars (more if I could) and a fave for sure! Love this series!
