Description

We missed the Owl sanctuary so I resorted to taking shots of what was available lol. Pidgeons are an easy subject because you can get so close to them. No alterations to the photo inc. brightness etc. just cropped slightly.

Superb capture Alan, you will have to have another visit to Heaton Park with this new camera. The detail on this first pigeon is fantastic, it could do with a manicure though, there's some poop on its claw, lol. Excellent work. Bravo!!!!!

Well done... that first birds eye is amazing! Not too bright, pigeons. The saying sprang to mind 'If brains were dynamite he couldn't blow his nose.'

Excellent POV and DOF, those birds are almost posing for you there, love the non conformist in the middle that's turning away :)

I love this! How wonderful that they lined up so nice for you. The one closest seems to be posing for the camera a bit. I simply adore pigeons anyway but this is a fabulous shot even if I didn't like them so much.

fantastic foto love the clarity, nothing wrong with doves as subject either, in the bible a dove comes to sit on jesus head after being babtised by john, another thing that springs to mind is the British scientist that trained pigeons to be used as guided systems in air torpedos during ww2, the project got canceled on moral grounds though, (it was guiding the missle by picking on a plate where the ship was.)

A wonderful capture Alan! I like the dof also. It tells me that you may have been close, but still far enough away to use this technique to your advantage, bringing out all the details in texture and color of the feathers, Sig..
