Hi, I'm Marilyn.  I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile.  It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here.  I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends.  Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time.  Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!!  Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet.  You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long.  Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

That 'light' sure is a solid and stalwart structure. Of course, with all of our wild hurricane weather here on the East Coast, it has to be. Love the addition of the tabby cat walking so proudly thru your capture.

A very striking image!

So tell me! Did you make the climb to the top? I would think that would be so exciting. I climbed up Point Arena's lighthouse about 10 years ago but I don't know if I could do it now with my health as it is. Still, I'd love to look out at the view from the top and inspect that light. A splendid look at this sleek-sided lighthouse.

I don't recall seeing one built like this before Marilyn, quite an unusual shape, is it octagonal or something like that, ours are mostly round, I think. I must admit I haven't visited any myself, been near a few, but not gone the extra yard. Excellent capture, vibrant colour with the red roof, if they don't see the light the roof will warn them off.lol. Superb work. Bravo!!!!!

Amazing image! I love the vivid color and the cat just adds to it, as cats are known to do. I suspect that he is the actual owner! I'm also quite entranced by that red roof! It's a wonderful eye-grabber! All in all, this is a great shot!

I have a fascination for lighthouses although I haven't any in my own collection of pictures and I can't say I have ever been up close to any. They certainly make a great subject to attract interest, this is no exception Marilyn. Thanks for your support. I'll catch up.
