Description
Not the real Tardis of course, this one is used by the staff on the trams, for keeping their personal effects in. I saw one of the inspectors get a bag out, with a flask and sandwiches in. These type of police boxes were a common site on streets, the phone was still insitu behind the little door, the white sign on the front did have instructions on for using it, unfortunately they did not come out. The outside phone was used by the public to phone the police, whilst inside was a phone for the policeman on the beat to use to contact headquarters. There was a blue light on top of the box that used to flash when headquarters were trying to get in touch with the beat bobby. He would see it flashing open the door and then speak to headquarters, remember this was before hand held radio and the telephone was the only way to keep in touch.
The clock next to the police box, made by "The National Time Recorder Company of London" was used by the tram personel at the terminus for clocking in and out, so that the tram company could tell if you were on time or not.
Thanks for stopping by for a look and for any comments you care to make.
May the sun shine down on you, where ever you are.
Sunny here today but still bitter cold.
Have a nice weekend.

Jeff, Oh this is so cool! Every time I see one of these (in a photo of course) I always think of Dr Who. My favorite one? Tom Baker ;)
