I got up this morning and had 95 new messages in my in box! Now I KNEW my post from last night hadn't garnered 95 comments in less than eight hours. When I started looking at the messages, I realized they were all congratulating me on having a featured album on Webshots!
When I first started with digital art, I opened a Webshots account so my friends and family could see what I was up to. After I started posting here on Renderosity, I left the Webshots account up, and I add to it every few weeks to keep it sort of current.
That place is so huge and anonymous I'm amazed anyone ever sees anything, so I have no idea how this happened - I imagine somebody who works for Webshots stumbled across something of mine that they liked and thought it would make a nice feature.
The album they featured? Flowers, of course!
If you want to check it out, you can see their front page here. The link to my featured album is a photo of a yellow lily on the right-hand side of the page. (It's a shot I posted here about a month ago.) My name there is auntietk too, so you shouldn't have any trouble finding it.
I have no idea how long they leave these things up. It may be a feature of the day, or a feature of the week ... ? I don't know. The link I gave you will always take you to the front page over there, but it won't always show my album, of course! Time marches on.
I thought the whole thing was pretty fun, and wanted to share it with you! :)

This rose is stunning and CONGRATULAIONS on a well deserved honor. I looked at your Webshots album and bookmarked it so I can go back and view it when I get home. I'm at the beach now and while we have wireless internet in the room, it sure is slow compared to my home connection. I guess I'm spoiled by high speed internet at home.

I have had similar experiences with two albums overthere resulting into hundreds and hundreds visits to the albums .......... but no idea who was downloading pics!! and that is a kind of a problem at that site .............
