I walked this earth As a mortal man Afraid of pain Afraid of being hurt But the worst part is I was afraid of living Afraid of potential Afraid of what I could be And what I could have But then I met you lover You give me strength With your kindness You give me joy With your love You give me peace With your touch You are a genie Who taught me its alright To make a wish I am no longer a mortal I am a giant A giant inside Who has learned how to fly

Beautiful poetry, and the image is perfect for it. I can't help but notice the phrasing, the tempo, of the two parts. The first section has a cadence akin to walking, then stopping, a little jerky, not quite smooth. In the second part, I can feel the tempo of flapping wings in "strength" "joy" and "peace." Very smooth, a totally different feel. Nicely done, my poet friend!
