Description

Hi-- Thanks for stopping in.. working on Hair on this image - this is Koz's Long Hair Evolution with Pendragon's hair shader. Something I'm trying to work out for a tutorial so your feedback regarding the hair is most appreciated. DAZ Studio render - probably a bit too much postwork in Photoshop CS3 This is Victoria 3 with DM's Alina texture and a free face morph by A_ that I found somewhere. Hair, as noted, is long hair evo by Kozaburo-san. I processed the texture to a grayscale using a procedure outlined by bagginsbill in the poser forum and did the color, ansiotropic highlight, sss and tranlucency with Pendragon's hair shader. I also did a subdivision on both V3 and the hair prop. The hair was rendered at subD level 2 and V3 was rendered at subD level 1. SubD'ing hair really smooths it out. Just be careful to save your work as it's easy to crash the render engine with too many polys using subD. D|S did me the courtesy of crashing at least a dozen times while I was working on this. (Note to D|S devs - STABILITY - not BLOAT!!!) Lighting is Dreamlight's basic studio lightset - converted to uberspots with lightened shadows. Postwork included adding some film grain a circular gradient to 'vignette' the piece, levels adjustments and some softening of the highlights. As always your constructive critque is most welcome and comments are appreciated.

Beautiful realism here!!! The hairtexture looks perfect to me!!! As for the flow of the hair (falling with natural gravity) I myself try to fake that with 2 or 3 D-forms applied to the hair with small fields..
