Description

There are many scenarios currently circulating regarding the year 2012 (4 years from now). One is the end of the Mayan Calendar as far as time, others are NEOs coming too close to our planet and the possibility of a comet striking Earth. Well, I chose the comet scenario for this render. It is making a direct impact into the ocean, raising a tremendous volume of water and setting fires dancing upon the water. Guess we can surmise the rest of this scenario in our imaginations. Total destruction in every venue. Enjoy and thanks for viewing and commenting. Entire image is constructed of spheres with 1 water plane and 1 cloud plane. Very dramatic and impressive piece, Keith! In Revelation, though (in the Bible), it says the grass and the trees get burned up--one-third, I think, of all green things. You've managed to convey a fairly close scenario to what it really might look like, I think. People so need to read that book....great job on this image!

Impressive composition and render, Keith! I hope you are mistaken as far as the Mayan calendar is concerned, it'd be too bad to see your skills gone to ashes:-)Excellent Bryce, stunning and superbly rendered.

The year after I retire from the Army. Wow, that sucks. Worked all this time for nothing. Great use of that vibrant orange. Love the ripples in the water. Very nicely done, Keith!!

Excellent image! But I think we might get sucked into a black whole.. when the planets align... something to do with the milkyway and a black whole...

Excellent render, but I'm not going to say it's my favorite of yours :) as. I'm not looking forward to that year - kinda of a wait and see attitude.
