Hi, I'm Marilyn.  I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile.  It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here.  I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends.  Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time.  Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!!  Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet.  You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long.  Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

WOW! Great POV! Glad you took this one, well done!

This is incredibly well done! I love the POV...actually I love the idea of a skylight in an elevator! Of course I'd do the whole transparent floor thing too...but that's just me! This is an intriguing capture with a great sense of color. I love the elevator shaft workings; they're finely captured! Great work, as always, and quite a surprising image!

You have a gift of seeing what many of us miss. I'm sure glad you capture it and share it with us. Wonderful work!

I think Tim as something here, Cool it most certainly is. You have done well here Marilyn, inside a box with pretty dim lighting, shooting up towards the sky, it hasn't turned out too bad. You have a very steady hand, I can't take them like this hand held any more, I think partially due to medication. I used to be fairly steady in low light but now I have to use a tripod. Excellent work and you are quite right, I wouldn't have resisted either. Bravo!!!!!

Excellent idea! I like the way the light flows in, and the reflections accentuate the entire image. ;o) Way to go....

I've heard "don't look down" before but this is a new one..."don't look up." I always had a little problem with those glass elevators because there is another one for those..."don't look out." :-) Fun shot!

Cool shot.

Now I am really envious! Splendid POV, DOF, lighting effects and perspective in play here. What a terrific capture looking up at, or through, the elevator shaft during your trip to Atlanta. Actually, it could easily be mistaken for a MRI device.

Could be some super SciFi entrance to a star ship, as well. Love these where one's imagination can go wild.

That's totally cool! It reminds me, though, that we got off on other topics and I never got a full report of the exhibit!
