Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

It is a beautiful colorful picture but yet at the same time, our future will consume the past... Soon, it will be just a memory. Aloha

A great picture to illustrate the contrasts - both have beauty, of course, but we all have our preferences ... just like your wise and resourceful little girl. Mike

I seem to recall a church in similar circumstances in New York, not too sure though it was quite a while back. This looks too nice to demolish, although I wouldn't like to live there myself, I wonder how many minutes of sunshine it gets in a month? Looking at the tall buildings not many. Excellent capture Marilyn. Bravo!!!!!

This is spectacular the way that house is surrounded by the modern buildings. Great capture, Marilyn.

A beautiful capture, I just love the colour. Although that house is dwarfed by the high buildings it is quite some house!!!

Amazing when you think about that house not really being that small - its just dwarfed by the highrises and progress... Outstanding shot and lovely postwork.

You've done it again! Stellar POV, clarity, colors and geometry in this excellent shot depicting the lovely tree and old mansion in elegant contrast against the massive modern high museum.

can you imagine what it looked like before the big buildings took over??? A Really Beautiful place and it is So Nice that they preserved it instead of tearing it down in the name of progress!!!!
