Renderosity has opened a whole new world to me, its a fantastic place and have had some brilliant support from many new friends.  I retired from work very early through ill health so I took to photography from the very basics.
Since joining I have grown in confidence with my photography and I now think because of RR that I take it a little more seriously. I started off here using a Fuji Finepix 6500fd, it took some great pictures but I'm hooked now so I have now(April 2008) bought a DSLR SAMSUNG DX10 and having fun learning the settings etc. ( these things take me a while lol)ÂÂ
I am so fortunate to be with a wonderful person in my life, Sylvia. She is not just my partner but of course she's also my best friend. Previously I have been married but seperated a few years ago and have two fantastic children. I NOW have two fantastic grandchildren !!!
My interests are photography, i have had a dabble at Acrylic painting, and I enjoy long walks out in the countryside.      I also have an interest in anything historical.  I want to have a sample of just about everything there is in photography, who knows what the future holds!
Thanks for calling by.    Alan

I checked to see If I had any info on this one Alan, but I don't, sorry, I took two pics of this one and deleted both, plus more than 50% of the rest as well. You have done well with this on, the netting was quite a small mesh as well, and you managed to focus through it. Most of mine the mesh showed up very strong. Excellent capture. Bravo!!!!!

Beautiful capture my friend. In 2007 I made 120 photos in the zoo and I deleted 100 of them so you did a good job.

coloring is wonderful. Just only 100 deleted out of 400. sound like me. low lighing is hard and you have to play with some in photoshop to bring the image out like it should be. of couse camera movement you just have to delete lol

Well done Alan not easy with shorter focal lengths below 200mm to throw the DOF out it looks alien to our little squirrels but in my book of mammals may be Delmarva Peninsula fox squirrel.. But that may not be the case as there was no side on view to show those side colours..
mickuk50

You are right, it can be very frustating to take photos at the zoo, it is not easy, sometimes I take 1000 captures because I know that only 10 or 20 captures will be good or near good.Nice capture and composition ! take it easy when you go to the zoo !
