Description

I'll tell you what: One or two trips to the beach with a camera yields more photographs than you can imagine! Here's another one from the beginning of April. What amazes me is that this third-of-a-brick somehow got to this beach from somewhere else! Probably washed up with a heavy surf one day, but ... how was it suspended in the water before it crashed here on a wave? And what happened to the other two-thirds of this brick? What was it used for before it came to Edmonds, Washington? Part of a building? Just a broken brick used as ballast? Is it here to stay, or is it just on some sort of brick vacation, out to see the world? These are the things I think about when nobody is looking. My mind might not be the most interesting place in the world, but it's certainly busy! :)

I used to make bricks like this, many years ago, the works has long since beeen demolished and new houses are built there now. Who knows out of the millions that I made, or helped to make, it might have made its way across the seas to visit America. Lol. Did you know that the indentations or in this case a hole(I made both) are called 'frogs'? A bit late in the day but Happy Birthday dear Tara, Happy Birthday to You! While we are at it Happy Mothers Day too. Grab yourself a toy boy And a tiny mini skirt Let him drive you in his sports car Then come back and dish the dirt! It’s time to celebrate in style Fun and frolics all the way It’s that day you thought would never come Your fabulous fiftieth birthday! Anon Superb capture full of beautiful textures. Bravo!!!!!

I'm a bit late, which is really weird since I'm something like nine hours ahead of local time for you, but HAPPY BIRTHDAY. I feel like a time traveler in a way...I never know whether I'm coming or going. But anyway...Happy Birthday again, and now onto the image. When I saw the thumbnail, I thought you'd gone to some archaeological dig or something--sort of like the kind they have all over Illinois. Needless to say, I was intrigued by the image. It's brilliantly captured and I can just imagine what riches you're able to spot! I love the various textures here, especially the somewhat organic texture of the brick itself. It looks like something I'll eventually write about. As for how it's likely to have traveled...well...who knows, maybe the hole in the middle has something to do with it...at any rate, I love this image, and the bits of kelp that you've caught as well. Great work! As always!

Nice shot! You gotta wonder about these things huh :) Oh and a belated Happy Birthday to you! My Brother's Birthday was May 13, he has the same problem with Mother's Day, as did my Grandmother, her Birthday being 7 May. Hope you had a fantastic day :D
