Description

This is the same tree in Shane's foto**--but this gives you a bit of perspective as to how tall it is. It's a bit slanted, but that's because the camera was sitting on the hood of my truck; I tried to straighten the foto, but it just didn't look quite right. And, believe me, this is just a baby redwood, the big guys are truly gigantic!! That's Barger, my son's dog, on the left; he's my partner these days while Jordan works on the river for the summer. And this is a good time to tell you I'm off tomorrow for Yosemite, where Jordan is now, on the Merced River. I'll be there for 3 days, enjoying the wonders of this amazing place. I've lived in California most of my life and have NEVER been there!! So not only do I get to see my son, I get to see yet MORE new places!! Oh, and he tells me we can go on another river trip, and assures me I won't get wet this time!!! ** click here

I think maybe a couple of dozen people to hug that tree. Excellent capture Marilyn, nice to see you again, it does give us a sense of the size of the tree, you being in the shot. Quite a few matchsticks there. Bravo!!!!!

A BABY redwood??? Gimme a break! That may be a baby, but it looks like a big mother to me! And, either you're leaning in this shot, or the forest is leaning behind you. In any case, an intriguing photo of you enjoying yourself amidst the wilds. BTW, I was 22-years-old when I last visited Yosemite. No cars then, just horse and buggy or stagecoach.
