Description

Here's the first bit of my trip ... the flight from Seattle, Washington to Redmond, Oregon. It's about 300 miles, and takes about 50 minutes by plane. The window on the flight going down was absolutely horrid, but I wanted you to see what the trip was like, so I'm posting them anyway. I figure a collage will distract you, and you won't notice the poor quality! .......... Top image: The plane I flew in, sitting on the tarmac at Seattle. Second image: Lake Washington, Mercer Island, and Bellevue. Planes take off heading North out of Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, and in order to head South, they bank fairly steeply as they turn around. This gives passengers on the right-hand side of the plane a great view! (I sat there on purpose.) Center left: Mount Saint Helens, in Washington. You can clearly see the side that blew out. Center right: Mount Jefferson, in Oregon. Second from bottom: Almost to the Redmond airport. Left to right - Mount Bachelor, Three Sisters, Black Butte, and Mount Jefferson. Bottom image: On the tarmac at Redmond, Oregon, waiting to taxi to the terminal. That's Mount Jefferson (right) and Black Butte (left) in the background. .......... I hope you've enjoyed your flight today! By the way ... full view will be a little bigger, if you want a closer look.

I enjoyed the flight immensely! Wow, you really got to see the mountains which must have been a real treat. I love the Mercer Island picture since I've never seen that area before, let alone from above. What a trip we are going to have!

Yep, I got 'em all right. But then I should, shouldn't I? LOL Next time take a long-handled brush and wash the outside of your window before you take off. You have to make some sacrifices for your art, you know. :-)

These are great images! The poor window quality just makes the impression realistic, so don't worry :)

Great photographs - even if I can't look at them for too long. I couldn't even glance out of a 'plane window let alone take photographs! You have my sincere admiration. Mike

Yes, where are we going next? It was fun to see your shots and try and figure out what was what. Too bad your window was so sucky! But your caps are great anyway, just like real life you have to be able to look past the spots to the real beauty!

Those puddle jumpers can be an experience. I took a flight from LA to SF on a turbo prop plane in 1989. It was so bad people were tossing their cookies all over the place. Anyway, it turned out to be an omen because 2 days later I was stuck in the great quake of '89. I hope you had much more fun in Oregon!!!

I like flying alot better this way. The shots of all the mountains is so great to see on a clear day. And I didn't even have to get drunk to fly lol.
