Description

Well here is the big house I told you about yesterday, this is the Biltmore Estate, and no Mike (Mad-Mike) it is not located in California and I wasn't out in California this weekend or I would have stopped by, and no PJ (Mrs. Lubner) Elvis never lived here LOL. But I have visited the Presley mansion (Graceland) before I can dig out some old photos if you want. This is located in Ashville North Carolina, and was built by George Washington Vanderbilt the 2nd, in 1888. It is a beautiful area to visit, with lots of beautiful scenery, and a whole lot of walking involved. There is a beautiful garden including some 250 different varieties of roses, horse back riding, canoes rides, carriage rides, bike trails, and a winery, those are just some of the activities you can do there. Being an avid reader my favorite part was the two story library. The only thing I didn't care for was there is no photography permitted inside the house itself. And it poured down rain just about all day, except for when we had lunch at the Biltmore Inn, and there was a wedding taking place on the grounds beneath where we had lunch so the sun came out just in time. Oh and there was an Elvis umbrella involved LOL, which got put to good use mostly protecting my camera, So Elvis was there in spirit! And yes I own an Elvis umbrella LOL

Hope you enjoy I will try to post a few different ones. Also I have posted two webs sites below if you would be interested in reading more about the Biltmore's.

I agree with Cytisus, if you didn't tell us where this was located, I would swear it is a European Estate. I wonder if the architect modeled it after one in Europe? Great POV!

I love it and I have a movie made in it years ago starring Don Knotts and Tim Conway called The Detectives. My parents went there long ago and I would love to see it in person.

It sure is a MANSION or CASTLE but a house? You could have fooled me, lol. I can imagine that this would be the perfect setting for a wedding. Great colors, despite it being cloudy.

WHat an Incredible Place. Is it the recreation of an Estate in Europe or is it Original? Either way this is Spectacular,................ oh yes, are there are any Quacks-Quacks ;^)
