Description
Another capture of the cicada in the process of molting. I know it is kind of gross, but it was such a cool thing seeing the little guy struggle to get out of its old shell.

Well, I happen to think it's rather awesome! And what a splendid macro by you! We're in the midst of tons of them here, too. Odd that if you stand still, in a quiet place, you can literally HEAR them creaking their way out of their coverings. Whether you're a bug lover or loather, it's fascinating...the face that they're dormant for 17 full years, before these swarms. Lovely work :)
