Description

This montage is for Mickuk50, I know how much he loves trains and today Alan(artaddict2) and I went to the 1940's weekend at the East Lancs Railway Museum in Bury, Lancashire, UK. The first train we went on was 'The Dambuster Raider', I don't have too much information but I believe it is in fact an American engine. It was supposed to be a 1940's day, but they slipped up just a tad, the engine 'The Fusilier' wasn't built until 1959, Ooooop's! We had another enjoyable day out, and there will be quite a few 1940's type pictures being posted over the next couple of weeks. Please zoom this is a large file. Our next planned outing will be on the 21st of June(the longest day) when we are hoping to visit the wild life center that Mick went to a few weeks back. Up near Barrow in Furness/ The Lake District. Thanks for stopping by for a look and for any comments you care to make. Also thanks to those that just view, I know its hard to leave comments on every one you see, it would take a week to write a days comments. May the sunshine down on you, where ever you are.

Great montage of two great engines. They look very cool! 5++ "The Dambuster Raider" must be an american engine, I think it is an ALCO (Water pump on the front and the assymemetric hatch)

Great shots! I keep missing these events - mainly because we work weekends, but I even missed the Dambuster's memorial flight recently and we were off! We were at Chatsworth House instead - a few planes flew over there.
