Description
Captured back in 11/4/07, around 7:25 AM, in beautiful downtown Los Angeles.
At the ever present risk of repetition, and for those new to this series, it was foggy driving all the way from my place, with about a quarter of a mile visibility and fortunately very little traffic, to the beautiful California Plaza along Grand Avenue, where my goal for the morning, the annual Alzheimer's Memory Walk, was being held.
More information concerning this event can be found under my previously posted "Hi-rise in the fog #1."
At this juncture, the sun was rising and the mist was beginning to dissipate, so my fog photo opportunities were rapidly coming to a halt. Hence, strike while the iron is not only hot, but also warm.

Thanks again for dropping by, and have a well-mannered weekend!

Another good double Harry. Almost like a 3d render but I know you are a great photographer so there is no trick...it is a photo. Love the grey fog(silly me what other color a fog has...I wonder...lol) anyway real cool capture.

Interesting work.

Just keeping it low did not help the I-10 or the Bay Bridge approach. I guess that is why I associate Nicolas Gaudi with the Corona Freeway and Frank Gehry much later with the general Barcelona financial district on Wilshire. Improvisation only holds as long as plasticity.

Very interesting series, and this shot is equally impressive, Harry!

That must have been an awesom sight seeing those buildings disappearing in the sky! Good job taking advantage of the opportunity and snapping photos!

That is so wonderfully cool, Harry. Love the geometric lines that are softened by the mist.

Bringing back memories when I was in California. When the fog did move in, some of the planes were flying extra low. Very nice capture. Aloha

I don't remember a lot of tall buildings in your gallery, partly because I haven't seen all your gallery, and partly because I know LA doesn't have as many as other huge cities: So it's so nice to see these. In the left-most shot you have a fascinating compilation of different surfaces, the leftmost bldg really bringing in another whole view. And the fog creates a painterly patina (no I'm not alliterating, I'm using actual words I want to use, lol) that render the buildings & their surfaces into apparitions & paintings of light. If this fog is common in LA, it must be a great time to shoot---and I do appreciate the time limit you have as the sun begins to ruin everything. Now that I have a camera, oh am I aware of how time moves & interferes with an important shooting session: I want to scream, "slow down! Artist at work! What in the world's your freakin' hurry???" The right-most shot is simpler, but allows us to see the horizontal bands that sheer high rises have, and that strange green thing in the front of one of the bldgs---like a partition or a display of some kind. Simple, minimalistic, but very soft and complex, another terrific shot. I like all these fog series, and I'll try to comment on more as I go.
