Description
several years ago I had the opportunity to visit the Manila American cemetery in Manila Philippines.I was in awe of so many graves of soldiers.yesterday I found out that it holds more soldiers from WWII than any other-more than 17,000 graves.it was my first time to view a military cemetery and I had a huge lump in my throat coming to the realization of the huge sacrifice.one can hear in school,on radio, and tv but seeing in person puts a whole new light on the tragedy of war
this is a hover fly and it is less than 1 inch long.thanks for viewing and any comments

Awesome captures and great macros. Interesting info I did not realise there were more than 17000 graves in Manila, as you say what a sacrifice

We have some war cemeteries here too of course. A few years back they found two German soldiers, they were buried in a churchyard in the wartime without a mark or stone. Fully dressed. The Germans didn’t know that, I think it happened at the end of the war. It was near the place I lived back then. They find still some remains after all those years. Beautiful macros Richard. And a wonderful dedication too.
