Description

Back up on the East canyon rim, looking West. This is Mount Jefferson. At 10,497 feet (3,199m), Mount Jefferson is the second highest peak in Oregon. It has a topographic prominence of 5,777 feet (1,761m). (That means it sticks up above the surrounding terrain by more than a mile.) You can learn more about Mount Jefferson here. With this, we'll leave Lake Billy Chinook and head back into town. One more stop along the way, then back to Jill's for another nap!

The 3 P's, Picture postcard perfect. Superb capture Tara, with great depth to it, it makes me want to be there, to see it with my own eyes. It has pull, makes you yearn, I would love to see the view from the top. Is there any chance you might return and climb up for me? Lol. Excellent work, thanks for the trip. Bravo!!!!!

Akemi's right, I love this one. I'm surprised at how much snow it has on it this late in the year. This angle is very deceptive; it looks like the mountain is rising directly out of the plain.
