BIO
My real name is Lars, and I live in Denmark. All my life I've been drawing and making pictures, occationally as a "professional" but always with an amateur ("for the love of it") approach.Being a proficient airbrush artist, the jump to computer graphics (Photoshop, Painter) wasn't all that hard for me, it was just a question of understanding how to employ the techniques to this new medium.
In july -02 I dug into the world of 3D rendering for the first time, in Bryce 5. A truly fascinating experience! My computer has been rendering ever since ;o)At the beginning I thought I'd be making lots of sci-fi stuff, but something happened right back from the early Bryce days: I started to look at trees and nature, the sky etc. in a new manner, or more intensely at least. I've always been a big fan of beautiful landscapes, and instead of sci-fi, I began a "quest" for 3D landscaping and beliveable environments.
Over the years, the 3D rendering has more or less taken over my creative endeavours. Vue became my application of choice from the start of 2003, with Poser, XFrog and Onyxtree as auxilliary programs. Plus a whole arsenal of new and ancient freeware, to be mentioned are Bantam3D Grass and Plantstudio.

Amazing work, and a fave for sure. The only thing that disturbs me a bit is that there's a particular stone shape that seems to be too much repeated. But even so, it's a great image and a great place.

As usual, great, premo work there, and the scene makes me want to be there too! It's fun to watch the crawdads creeping around in small creeks like that too, and some of those water skimmers are fun to watch also :) A crit, since I like to do those when and if I have any, I think the green moss/slime on some of those rocks, would of been more compelling had you added some sort of splotchy fractals to break things up, as those rocks have been banged around a bit from other rocks and twigs floating down stream and animals walking over them and eatting parts of the moss too and just good old dead moss like would actually happen in that type of a place. And maybe have at least some amount of that same slime on parts of those perfectly clean rocks since they may have been some of the rocks that tumbled into the mossey rocks and such? And since you are always sooo detailed on all your scenes, it might of been fun (but not nessisary) to Photoshop in a few little bees buzzing around a few of them flowers, just to add a little to the overall atmosphere is all :) Still giving this a 5+ since I think it's one of your best scenes!

The lighting in this scene is absolutely astounding! The rocks in the stream could do with a little bit more variance but that small problem pales into insignificance when compared to the magnificence of the lighting! My score is '5'.
