I'm a software engineer by day. I spend my time pushing ones and zeros around, which is not as easy as it sounds. They're slippery little devils.BIOI discovered fractals in the mid 80's with Fractint on what must have been a 25 MHz processor. Around 2001 I upgraded all the way from 400 MHz to 1.8 GHz, and thought about making fractals again. I discovered Fractal Explorer, and later XenoDream. These days I use mostly XD and MBF, with an occasional image from ChaosPro and Quasz, since I've always loved quaternions.
For my photography I use a Canon 30D. My primary lenses are a Canon 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 EF DO IS USM and a Canon 24-105 f/4 L IS USM.

Yikes! I found at least one of them, maybe two. (Full view, 400%.) That is one big hunk of rock! Wow! Excellent image, my friend. I'm glad you were able to sneak out and get some photography in!

This is awesome. What a great view. And the color is rich without alterations. Fabulous shot!

what a wonderful place !

Good shot! It brings back memories, as I grew up in western Las Vegas. I used to hike those very same hills. (Yes, they are that red.) The cave in that area was bricked up after someone got stuck; it ruined all the fun of amateur caving for the rest of us. (It was a very tight squeeze to get in.) Allow me to put digits on your "blazing hot". Contrary to what the weather channels will say, the temperature regularly reaches 120 degrees F (47 C) in the hottest months. I got burns on my chest whilst taking prone shots in arroyo beds, so I measured the temp with an oven thermometer: 160 F! I appreciate what you went thru to get this photo, and I say "well done"! ;)

Reminds me of one of my favorite escarpments on Mars, lol. Very beautiful shot, but alien looking too.

This is beautiful, Dennis. I have not seen this before and it makes me want to go visit the area. I love the color of the rocks and the various layers are really interesting.

I was in Vegas a few months ago but went the other direction to the Grand canyon (yes, in the winter :^). I saw this place on the map but didn't get a chance to get there. After seeing this I'll make time on the next trip. Superb shot here. I'd like to go climbing there myself.

Stunning Dennis! I see them, but having worked for 20 some years in this environment I am used to the scale of things!

Great shot of the rugged rocks here, Dennis. That certainly is a rugged landscape out there and you captured it well!

Well, I found them but I had to hunt! Great shot. I've been out there and you've captured it well. Yep, the rocks are red.
