Description

Almost there...one needs the patience of a saint to watch the birth of a GRASSHOPPER and then... they get eaten by a bird !

Wow- how you managed to catch the molting process in the act is beyond me- but you have a knack for capturing some amazing nature moments! Perhaps you need to contact National Geographic and do some freelance work for them!

I have yet to capture an insect strip tease--um I mean, molting! I am glad I saw this one too! I love your gallery so it's nice to dip back and see things that are new to me. It's amazing how your grasshoppers look like ours, only without the chevron things on the legs. I've seen German grasshoppers and they look weird...NOT like familiar ones at all! Their heads are so bullet-shaped! They look muscular in ways that the American (and apparently Australian) jumpers aren't. Rather like weight lifters named Gunther! But that's a ramble for another time. This is a great duo of photographs, and I look forward to seeing (and discovering) more. Great work.

You have to wonder where they fit all of themself in the old casing once you see them outside of it. Quite the magicians trick!
