Description
I shot this on the edge of the Grand Canyon. The plant is commonly known as Apache Plume - derived from the fact that it resembles Apache war bonnets. It's an evergreen shrub, and a member of the Rose Family. The plant blooms from April through June.
When backlit in the strong afternoon sun it provides a beautiful sight. And funny thing is, since this plant was located right on the edge of the canyon, the tourists rushed right on by and I didn't see anybody noticing this delightful plant at all.
Thanks much,
marshall
