Description

morning all :o) well this shot came close to what i was trying to achieve with motion and reflection ,only because i was facing away from the sun .i did some homework and found out that to cut the light out i needed a polariser and a neutral density filter on the camera which would of took out 5 stops of light which then would have given me the quarter to half a sec exposure i wanted so i will be going back :o)..i spoke to one of the drivers who told me a non stopping train will go through here at upto 100 mph .no wonder your told to stay away from the edge .the train captured here was a virgin voyager 220 dmu heading north ,which is just diesel not electric thanks for looking and take care mick

You sure did get this just right! When I was working for a friend near SF, I saw a lot of express trains roaring past, and yeah, you don't want to get too close. They're really moving!!

I have a picture of a sign somewher Mick, that warns people to stay away from the edge as the drag of the train can pull you off and onto the track. Thats the reason for the bright yellow line you can see, it's not a no parking sign. Lol. I used to wonder what they were for until an express came thundering past, they do keep the platform free from litter though, they just drag it 500 yards down the track. Excellent capture, and reflection, as you say though it can be improved upon. Got to allow for shutter lag as well mate, I can imagine the engine was in view when you fired off, but the lag ment it was passed you before the shutter opened fully. Still an excellent capture of the last few carriages. Superb work. Bravo!!!!!
