Description

Windfarm, Knowl Hill Lancashire UK. Taken yesterday, June12 2008 We walked right up to them as we hiked our way over Knowl Hill. They were reconstructing a reservoir nearby, I'll never know how they drain them dry to do that! Thanks for all comments much appreciated. Have a great weekend !

These wind turbines are getting rather popular, with the price of energy as it is i am not surprised that people are using them.. great capture Alan, excellent well done..

Excellent close up Alan, but at that height it still looks along way away. I have yet to get up close to these, they look totally different to the wind farm on the Long Causway. Superb work. Bravo!!!!!

Great capture Alan, are those things dangerous?, I mean are they quite high? I am assuming they are, and your POV was down the slope a bit, sorry for my ignorance mate, but I don't see these in London (YET!)..Doubtless they will soon join the tide of development taking place here.

California has many windfarms. They are awesome to see - driving through the hills, you might take a turn only to see a huge windfarm with turbines churning together in long, disciplined rows...very impressive sight. This is a wonderful shot!

Superb shot we have one in our area that had the foresight to make sure we got the power first so when power went out two winters ago we were back on line in 12 hrs. others had to wait 10 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

excellent capture and pov.I have never been close to one erected in a city not far from where I live they make these generators and until you can see a blade on the ground, especially being towed by a truck it is hard to appreciate just how large they are.I wonder how they clear bridges as the diameter of the base must be 12 feet or more and longer than 3 regular trailers
