Description

Upload: 039 H Title: Gateway to the unknown Series: Revisiting Grizzle Peak, 1 of 3 Location: Grizzly Peak, Berkeley, California Date: February 9, 2008 Image: N08106M1b2s-FNL Camera: Nikon D70, Full Frame Commentary: It is here where I came to be, asked the Spirit of The Tall Ones who guards the woods to show me a sign in order to find the portal and enter into the forest’s darkness.. I had continued along the rim of trees until I discovered markings that were made by a small animal and I then followed. They in turn lead me to a threshold where golden leaves lay scattered about on the dark soft ground and the remaining handful hung on the branches and reflected the few speckled rays of afternoon light from the forest canapé above. Having entered through the narrow gap and descended down into the chasm of the Great Mother’s mountain, I abruptly came upon a small clearing where I found the Ancient Ones standing like pillars. In reverence I stood briefly motionless before approaching the Master of the Ancient One. I had reached out my hand to touch so that our lives would connect and we would be of one spirit. With humility I gathered the large feathers of wild turkey and a single red tail hawk, symbols from the Master of the Ancient One.

In regards to Mina's (NekhbetSun) question as to the authors words I reply: I am the one who not only wrote these words but also experienced my Vision Quest where these three photographs were taken. egmont

Viewed in order, the images do make sense as a trio, as your personal vision. Yes, great commentary too.

Excellent image Egmont! When I look at this, I am overwhelmed by a sense of peace, but also of some kind of nostalgia as well, which I can't seem to explain or describe. The sense of the ambiguous, and the hidden seems to come to me... and makes me wish I could venture into such a lovely world of trees and plant life. I can only imagine what this would look like in reality, fully alive and "in person". Stunning artwork, as usual!
