Description
I would like to thank everyone who commented and fav'd my last image. Your comments always make me smile and feel so great. Thank you!
The keeper of the earth is not happy. She had given us the earth as a gift and is very upset that we have abused it. So her message is very clear: "Clean up the planet or I will take it away! No excuses." Hey, I'm just the messenger, we can do this...honest. (getting down off the soapbox)
I am not sure anyone out there will remember the 'Merry Minuet' it was recorded by the Kingston Trio in 1959. I remember it in the 60's. Originally written by Broadway lyricist Sheldon Harnick with composer Jerry Bock. This satire was first introduced in 1953. And 55 years later nothing really has changed and has in fact, gotten worse. The names may have changed, but the problems haven't. Wouldn't it be nice to throw a war and no one came and we had peace. A nice thought.
Intro:
There are days in my life when everything is dreary
I grow pessimistic, sad and world weary.
But when I'm tearful and fearfully upset
I always sing this merry little minuet:
They're rioting in Africa
They're starving in Spain
There's hurricanes in Florida
And Texas needs rain.
The whole world is festering
With unhappy souls
The French hate the Germans,
The Germans hate the Poles
Italians hate Yugoslavs
South Africans hate the Dutch
And I don't like anybody very much
But we can be grateful
And thankful and proud
That man's been endowed
With a mushroom shaped cloud
And we know for certain
That some happy day
Someone will set the spark off
And we will all be blown away
They're rioting in Africa
There's strife in Iran
What nature doesn't do to us
Will be done by our fellow man.

A letra é sublime verdade, aplausos mil My friend Alexis, is in one moment as this, that not only the man is destroying and leaving the planet in fury, that precious feelings as yours need and they show. Great picture and sentiment. Yep, nothing much changes, except for this - Around 1800 there was less than 1 billion people on Earth. In the early 1950's there were 2.5 billion people on Earth and now there are nearly 7 billion. More powder for the power keg.

Excellently said and illustrated! We, humans are our own worst enemies and we take everything for granted! Superb character and effects, especially the melting earth and the lighting and background are amazing!

gas??? who needs it... it stinks. fumes and polution are killing us and the planet and the people in charge can't grow a brain and say hey, I saw something on tv over a month ago about a car that doesn't polute and can get 100 miles to 8 ounces of water... yeah, the car runs on water, doesn't polute... we have lots of people out of work, so why doesn't our government put them to work dismanteling cars and gas stations??? I won't see it in my life time... Heck, the world is supose to end in December 2012 anyway... Live it up.

Okay, I'll start by cleaning my room now. She's enough to scare me into it. MMmmm, maybe that was a little overzealous. I start by cleaning my desk. Naw, how about cleaning out my folders? Yeah, that's a good start. :o) All kidding aside, this is fantastic as was the song of long ago. I had forgotten it completely. Splendid Mother Earth. Bunny

Oh my, Mother Earth looks p*ssed. Her planet is melting away, and we just keep adding to the destruction. The polar bears are dying from starvation, the sea birds covered in oil, The bees are dying from who knows what, and the crops aren't being pollenated. Maybe I better run and hide because Gaia looks like she's getting her belt out, and someone's going to get a beating. Most excellent and thoughtful render.

Beautiful image and sentiment!!

I said the same thing a year ago, if the boys all decided at the same time not to fight, there couldn't be a war, so the leaders could always arm wrestle or duel for whatever lol This is splendid! The colours are gorgeous.

Wasn't that a Smothers brothers song????..lol Absolutely beautiful image and your words are so true (unfornunately)
