Born in Hilo, Hawaii and class of '66, I became very active in Barbells, Judo and love striking the heavy/speed bag. I've learned to Rollerblade and bike ride which is a very health sport. But time doesn't stop for anyone including for me. So my good friend Dave aka punaguy got me started in taking pictures. I'm having fun taking pictures especially hiking the mountains. It does look like a giant earthworm mound. This is a very special view of this area. The brown lava is great!

What a fascinating display of lava! The most unusual and interesting I have seen, and for the brownish color also. I know you have mentioned that it is unpleasant, but is the sulfur dioxide so concentrated that it is actually dangerous, since your mentioned caution? A great shot!
