Description

A quiet little mountain stream deep in the Ozark Mountains. Well, at least it was quiet when we were there last weekend. But while hiking down the stream I noticed a fair amount of natural debris up in the trees about 8 to 10 feet above ground. Apparently that was the height of the stream back during the spring floods they experienced there earlier this year. While the remnants of the rushing swollen stream has disturbed some of the banks natural beauty, there was one outstanding benefit resulting from the flooded creek. This area of the stream has always been rather shallow, with only a few small semi-deep swimming areas few and far in between. But about a quarter mile from this location a massive, rather deep swimming area was carved out from the flood where previously none had existed! And, because it takes a while to hike there, we were the only ones around to enjoy it. If you've never skinny-dipped in a cool mountain stream on a hot summer day, well, you just haven't lived! This is the 3rd shot from last weekend's Ozark Mountain trip. The previous one, "Spider Web in Morning Light", can be seen right here. Thanks for reading all this! marshall

Your pictures always make me want to visit the places depicted - you should be a travel photographer - but then maybe you are - how would I know?
