"Paul, I really appreciate what you've done, this is one winter, my kids will rest warm and my heating bills won't eat me alive."
"No problem - I'm glad I can help."
"So - you're not from around here."
"No, small town in Wisconsin, nothing like Chicago." He smiled bashfully replying.
"What brings a cutie like you, to Chicago?"
"M-my dads fiancée - you met her - Vivian, I came up with him, helping her get packed up."
"Where's your daddy? You mean he left you here all by yourself? In this big city, how old are you?"
"Me? Uh - 18 - *gulp* - ma'am."
Vanessa smiled, "18 huh? Got a girlfriend, back there in Wisconsin? I bet you do, that smile, those eyes - I bet the girls are all over you?"
"Huh? Uh, no ma'am - not yet, too shy I guess."
He blushed, looking down, feeling his face burn with embarrassment.
"Look at you just blushin', what you blushin' for? Never have a woman talk to you, the way I'm talkin' to you? I bet you haven't - you still a virgin Paul, huh? 18 - I bet you are."
"Huh? V-v-vir-vir-gin? Uh, m-me? Ah, I - uh..."
Tickled and thinking him adorable, Vanessa's laughter was low, soft and gentle. "Yeah, you still a virgin - it's written all over your face..." She stepped up close to him, real close, looking right into those gentle brown eyes, "...tomorrow, you'll be back to finish..." She reached up and softly caressed his temple, combing her fingers gentle through his hair, "... make sure you bring - every - thing - you need. Everything - you need. You finish fixin' for me - and I'll - do a little fixin' - for you?" She stroked his side, along his rib cage, with one hand while the other smoothed his hair, staring him straight in the eyes, so there was no doubt what she meant.
Back in his dads truck, Paul blew over and over trying to get his heart to stop it's mad beating, "No she didn't mean that! Did she mean that? No! No! No way! Don't be crazy, that's not what she meant! I'm not gonna think about it - I gotta stick to the list, what I need to finish-..." 'Condoms' His mind flashed. "No! Don't be an idiot, more plaster, insulation, stuff for sealing, another sheet of plywood-..." 'And condoms!'
"Stop it!"
'Condoms "No! Nothing like that is gonna happen!" He argued with his conscience, 'Just incase, she's more than a little appreciative, pick up some condoms!'
Paul gulped, his mind spinning in disbelief, "Well, I know nothing is going to happen, but - just in case, I guess - it wouldn't hurt to have some, just in case!" He decided finally, then a twinkle in his eye burst along with a great big smile, all who saw him, saw sparkling white teeth, as he eagerly anticipating tomorrow.

Once again excellent, picture and text (although I haven't come into reading mood in these minutes). :-) Shame on me: I particularly like the rich background. The very pose is great, and so is the point of view, but... Something is nagging me, saying that although the current picture does convey "catching them in the act", the center of the picture is quite an area of gray. Fine texture, I admit. But wouldn't a more artificial point of view have shown more of what you're trying to express? You're definitely right in facing Paul, so you'd have to adjust Vanessa's pose. I can't give a positive suggestion, for this is the first time that this notion has occurred to me. Hollywood must have hundreds of routines for it. :-)

See, the lights match better in this one compared to the last one. :) This is the kind of stuff I'm used to seeing of yours, better cohesiveness. Ha! So is the scene in back a jpg. or is it actually part of the scene? I'm not sure if you're rendering the background seperately and then layering it as a background image. Alot of these rooms come with lights but they don't work well with characters, so you have to tweak them to make them work but the results are far more realistic because the same lights are lighting everything so all subjects appear correctly shadowed. Somehow this comes across as two characters standing in front of a background image, albeit it's better integrated than the previous one I saw. :) Is that what you did? If it is then go back, do the room and actually put them in it and then light them; you'll get a more even result. If this is the room with them in it, then ignore everything I just said. ha! Nice story and image. It really conveys the awkwardness of the moment like he's hesitating at her come-on. giggle ciao.
