Description
Top photo captured 6/6/08, bottom 6/23/08, about fifteen feet from my condominium.
The agapanthus, or African blue lily, is easily the most ubiquitous plant in town, far outnumbering any other flower, including roses, morning glory, plemuria, petunias, gardenias, all varieties of lily, etc. In other words, it's all over the place.
Agapanthus comes in white, and in deep shades of blue and violet blue.
I'm still feeling way under par, but expect to make a comeback despite it all.
Thanks for the visit, and have a wholesome weekend.

Wow... a heavenly explosion of violet hues. It's like having your own personal fireworks in many neighboring flowerbeds! Would love one of those here in Minnesota. Even if I knew how to propagate it I would probably need a greenhouse. Just beautiful, Harry. Hope you're feeling better..?

Sure is an explosion_great capture

These are pretty sturdy flowers -- I had some at my house in California; they spread like wildfire, and you just couldn't keep them in one spot. Couldn't get rid of them, either. We used to call them Angry Panthers....

Where have you been Harry? Glad you back I started to miss a gorgeous rose shot in a double and now you just do the same with wonderful blue flower. Excelent capture what happenes when a "locked" bursting energy get out and show a true beauty for those who care to see and capture them.

They're not so ubiquitous up here, so I really appreciate these photographs. Such a beautiful flower, and your images are lovely! I'm glad to hear you're feeling better, mi amigo querido. I was about to call out the cavalry, when you turned up. It's nice to see you back and around!

Firstly, I'm sorry to hear that you have not been on par lately, I do hope that soon passes dear Harry. But as for these photos - in a word.... brilliant!! I love the before and after shots showing us the way this wonderful bloom has exploded into our vision. Excellent details, clarity and colours. Big hugs my dear friend. xx

They grow all over SA from literally a lick and a promise. They are so hardy and even if no care is given, they still have these lovely flowers in spring and summer. I have violet and white ones in my garden! Sorry to hear that you are not well Harry. Best wishes for a speedy and full recovery! :)

Lovely shot! I remember seeing them on tv... they were along the sidewalk where OJ Simpson's wife was killed. I've always thought they were such pretty flowers! Nicely shown, Harry!
