I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

Terrific POV, lighting contrasts and textures in this marvelous capture of the grazing buffalo, apparently unperturbed by your presence, Carin.

I would sooner face a pack of starving wolves than one of these Carin, they would at least rip me to bits, this one would toss me around for a while before killing me. Lol. #:0) Excellent capture, I'm not sure if the guide was knowledgable about the herd or just plain stupid, I think I will go with stupid. Superb work. Bravo!!!!!

I suppose its like our deer...people see them and they look like a sweet creature so they try to walk up and pet them. We have a high incidence of stupidity accidents each year from city folks who get stomped, kicked and gored by "Bambi." I do love the peaceful stupid look in this guy's eyes.

You are too brave. I probably would have left that strong zoom on and moved farther back from this dangerous beauty. Excellent and brave shooting. Aloha

that is about as close as you would want to get to one of these cantancerous fellows, even in a Land Rover made to take the full impact of a charge of a full grown rhino:)
