Description

This is for Sigmund(junge1) a follow up to Alan(artaddict2)'s post on Saturday. This cheeky Parrot just loved having a chew on my lens sun shade, the inside of which is almost like a thread for attaching a filter. He liked scraping his beak along the ribs for some reason or other. The top four were all taken more or less together, the next two were a short while later, about 15 minutes later. He was still at the same spot and has I walked past he again shoved his head through the fence to have another go. I had been on the other side actually in with him but no interest then. The bottom two he had a sniff at Alans lens but didn't like it has much as mine it seems. Thank God for skylight filters, I had to give mine a very good clean after he had finished with it. I won't go into detail but it was very slimy.Roflmao. A little bit of the fun we had at South Lakes Wild Animal Park. An outing I would recommend to anybody with an interest in animals, especially if the weather is nice. I intend to go again when there is a good forcast, as we had torrential rain when we went. It was the longest day and we had the longest rain of the year, but still had some fun. Thanks for stopping by for a look see, and for any comments you care to make. May the sun shine down on those that need it and the rain pour down on the fires that are raging.

African Greys are very curious birds and love to 'feel' things with their beaks:-) Maybe this little chap could see himself in the lens and was doing a bit of courting, hence the gooey lens LOL. Some super photos in the collage, you captured the essence of "African Grey' to a T.

I just thought you were only letting him chew your lens, maybe took a couple of macros, I didn't realise that you had taken so many. He was so fascinated with your lens you could have set your tripod up so to add your extreme macro lens lol. I think I must have been posing here Jeff because I was aware that you were taking a shot of me. Great collection!

Wonderful collage - your macros are great! Such a curious bird. He has quite a personality, and it comes through. I like the shots with Alan, too, especially the one on the left. Nicely done!

I am always at a loss as to which is more entertaining, your out-of-the-ordinary photos or your running commentary... lol Love these birds! If they'd had opposable thumbs/digits on the end of their wings we'd've really had a run at controlling the planet! Great captures...lol Alan too~ ;)

A wonderful collage Jeff and it's great to see the bird actually inside the lens (so to speak!). You really were very lucky to have such close-up shots without being out of focus (or is it just me that would have got them all blurred?? LOL!) Excellent shots. Hugs xx

Thanks Jeff! I was wondering what he found so interesting. He was really examining your lens and hood as if he was planning to write a dissertation on the makings of this camera! I am surprised how sharp the images came out. You and Alan always have fun, rain or shine, Sig...
