Description
June 25th, 2008: It seems that this year there is only one fledgling at the Riva, MD osprey nest (on the South River). The parents are very protective, too. Shortly after I arrived (and shot this picture), someone squawked and Jr. immediately hunkered down into the nest for the duration of my stay. I plan to get out there a bit earlier in the morning and obviously later in the growth cycle to get some more active shots later this week.
