Description
Captured 5/10/08, around 7:30 AM, about 1.4 miles/2.253 kilometers from my honorable hut.
Talk about pride of home ownership, this isn't exactly it. The garage doors were adjacent to an alley, in a nice neighborhood, which may or may not mean anything.
Anyway, this is my contribution, or answer, to the weathered wood photos that have currently popped up on Renderosity. Reminds me of the aftermath of a bad sunburn.
From their appearance, I believe I may have shot the bottom two photos at the macro setting.
Better viewed full size.
Thanks for the visit, and any and all kind and uncritical comments are always welcome.

I alway the last to know what going on in RR.lol these is super phoptos. Just presser wash with a gernade [thin jet of water comes out and spins in a cirle]. sand some and prime and put on two coats of top paint. look new then. I like the looks of this images you posted

This is really a beautiful textured shot! I think you should do a close-up framing of the clearest section. I like it!!

Nice color juxtapositioning, with the paint color against the wood color. I rather like the look, although I imagine that the neighbors aren't too appreciative. Maybe eventually the pain will all fall off and just the wood will be left?

Talk about texture Harry! This is fantastic. Love the a - peeling paint reveal a wonderful wood texture. Realy like a middle shot.

Looks like maybe redwood underneath. A little stain and it can last a long time.

Yes, to me, some peeling paint can be appealing texturely... especially with the wood grain and colors you caught here. Of course, on someone elses door ;) Super duper Harry.

Great shots, Harry, peeling paint can be pretty cool - on someone else's house!!

Oooooohhh. Great texture shots, my friend! I particularly like the second one. (I have no idea why - it just a-peels to me.) Love that flaky paint! :)

Great display of textures and color Harry. It even reveals past glory as if it was new.

Very nice colors and textures, Harry. I agree with tallpindo, it would be much prettier stained.

Nice work.

I redecorate every thirty years whether it needs it or not. But I'd creosote a fence not paint it. Anyhow, enough of my fussy attitude to home ownwership, these are super shots, and quite interesting.

This sadly neglected door looks good as far as photography goes, nice work once again!

I did a search for garage doors in your gallery, and whoa! What a collection! This is from all the way back in 2008, just after I joined RR. I can't possibly do them all right now, but I'll try to do a couple. These are gloriously decayed, and the last two show a whole mini-world going on, with major peeling formations and all kinds of patterns, along with that pink under-hue coming out everywhere. Lots of striation too; and the peeling in the last shot forms a series of long colonies along the lines of the boards. You were exploring these forms for a long time, probably long before this. Also, you said there was a bunch of weathered wood photos on RR at the time---a healthy fact I don't see done much anymore: I think the photography gallery has moved towards "photogenic" subjects, and away from decay, patterns, etc. A shame---which of course makes your gallery the special joy that it is, you're still pursuing these things with a passion, alongside all your other shots...A mass of decayed forms and wispy paint chips, like papers being blown by a plane over head. A very musical capture.
