Description

Thanks for all your kind comments on my previous upload. There are one or two more to come from the pier that morning but for today I'll break it up by showing an image of the town at night. I always love the way the cobbles look at night after it has been raining but in truth I didn't really plan this shot so had to make the best I could of the available light, meaning shooting with a very short dof and high ISO (apologies for slight graininess)... I decided to focus on the sign, which is really the only shop down this little side street, and is a quaint little place inside almost from another decade/century. You may perhaps recognise it as being similar to one of my earlier gallery images, Rainy Night on College Street, and the two spots aren't actually far apart at all though the alley featured today is more residential and quieter during the day. Hope you like it, I haven't done much night-time photography of the town so it may be that's where I'll start to focus next ;) Adam

Well done Adam, love the play of light on the wet cobbles. No need for colour, and the grain just adds to the effect. Cheers, Clive

Good night-shot. I really like how nighttime shots can leave you wondering what's just up the street, and this is a really good example of that. Thanks for posting.

I actually kind of like that graininess to it. Very moody and those reflections off the wet stonework is fantastic.
