Description

Bit of a tricky one to pick which to upload today - I have two very similar shots, the other of which is like a halfway house between 'Dawn Pier' and this one.. may show it at some point but it's a bit too 'samey' to do on consecutive days I reckon so I decided to go with the 'non-mooring, silhouetted' version today... Again this was taken at the end of St Andrews' pier at sunrise. The only patch of sky which looked vaguely nice is that which you can see - to the left and right were pretty dark clouds, with a storm off to the far right. No hdr used on this one as I liked the silhouette of my friend (Kiryl again) who was kind enough to 'model' as he looked on in awe at the sunrise unfolding out to sea... So glad you turned off HDR mode for this shot. The negative areas are so strong and balance the glow naturally with the deep shadow. I know some shots are made by this technique, but it can give an unnatural feel, not good for such a natural view.
