I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

Good to see you returned safely from Zimbabwe, thanks for sharring this positive experience concerning this country and its people which are nowadays daily in the news, but appearently we should not believe everything broadcasted ............. A very nice, deserved dedi to these brave people!!! Een heel goed en gezond weekeinde voor jouw Carin, na wat toch een vermoeiende en emotionele week moet zijn geweest!! Groetjes, Henk

I have always said that no matter how much you think you suffer there is always someone else worse off than you/me. At least I can get up each morning and have a hot shower with clean water, I can have a hot meal for breakfast, and go to shops that actually have something to sell. In the scheme of things I am thankfull for what I do have and feel for those that don't. Excellent image and dedication Carin. Bravo!!!!!

Thank you helping to raise consciousness on this important matter concerning the people of Zimbabwe. I also appreciate reminders of how we have it so much better than people in the rest of the world, where hardships of untold kind and degree are often the order of the day. Your story about the spirit and hope that the people have despite the punishing circumstances they exist in not only makes my heart go out to them through the common bond we all share as human beings, but also offers itself up to me as a lesson in how we should to take stock of whatever travails we ourselves may be subject to. I also feel humbled merely by reading your words. Thank you, and welcome back. I'm pleased you've returned safely and that that days are dwindling as you approach being reunited with Bruce. Have a great weekend!!!

Welcome back! A combination of diaphanous diffusion and extreme clarity in this lovely bouquet, Carin! Look like asters or daisies of some sort. My nephew spent some time in Zimbabwe some years back. It was some kind of volunteer work and he shared the hut of several natives.
