Description
Modeled and rendered in Mechanisto. Background from an astronomy program. Procedural textures, no post work.
This started as an experiment in creating more organic shapes, specifically a thorny vine for a briar patch or something. Never did get that far. It ended up being a gift for a friend who deserved it (and more, but my talents are limited).
Comments, suggestions, and criticisms are welcome, thank you for taking a look!

Thorne looks good, the Rose has too many petals showing on the outside, five or six would have been better. Never heard of Mechanisto. Lighting is good and the overall effort is great! Keep going!

Mechanisto is a shareware Macintosh program. Well, it's freeware now, the creator has given up on it apparently - no updates since '95, and his address is defunct. It's pretty decent considering its age, and being shareware. A shame he didn't continue to work on it really. Less petals? That can be arranged... I'm not going to post my first attempt at the bloom. :) Thanks for the comments!
