Description

One of the biggest drawbacks to living in an apartment complex is that I don't have access to those lovely and fun rocks I used to play with so often (photos in my gallery that seemed to defy gravity herein) but to satisfy my strange, well, one of, well, anyway, best not to dwell on my many strange hobbies... I gathered some stones that are mostly golfball-sized or slightly larger in the case of these, and perched them in a precarious stack as I watched a storm roll in on me. This was my favorite result. They only stood like this for about 5 minutes before falling. No tricks, glue, photoshop only used for the border, just gravity and friction. It's a great way to pass the time, I recommend it to anybody who wishes to focus their mind and still their soul for a bit.

Excellent sculpture. I also love its transience - like music, it's beautiful while it's there, but when it's gone, it still lingers...

I'm very fond of the ephemeral in art. Important to take a pic though, like Andy Goldsworthy!

Well that's a far bigger accomplishment than the simple structure I found by the beach, took a picture of and now use as my member icon. Excellent work ... and photography!!

This is really awesome, I love it! It must take a lot of patience... I don't know if you know Bill Dan, he did a great little short film called Balancing Point that I discovered by chance on the web. If you don't know him you should visit this place: http://www.rock-on-rock-on.com/balancing-point.html You'll really like it. This is a great photo, it's a very beautiful sculpture and fascinating to look at :)

I saw a chap do this with a pile of rocks but even more on knife edges so they balanced precariously. I like this sort of work and your photos does it justice.
