BIO
My love for digital art started about 2001 when I created simple 2D-wallpapers for my Star Wars homepage. I always was annoyed with the picture-material I had, as it never fitted to my needs and I wanted to create more unique images. Searching the net for a program that could solve my problem I found Bryce. Soon I was a member of a Yahoo-group and everybody was talking about Poser..... That was the beginning of my friendship for this wonderful program! Everyday I learn more about this "mysterious" program and I think I'll never learn everything ;o) Hopefully one day I have the chance to build my own digital models, but at the moment I love it to texture models with PhotoImpact. That's it. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me! ~Saskia~
Update 2008
Sorry to say that, but I nigh completely abandoned Poser from my workspace, as I've moved on to Carrara, an application I learned to love and that challenges my intention to finally build my own models. I just have to find a way how and where to start learning....

I really like her face, it's so different, excellent textures, fantastic outfit, and lightning - fantastic, like DOF.

background is so awesome with this character - Keep her around as Jacks sister...Face - love it, especially the eyes... lips? maybe a brighter shade of red or even go dark with black... Her panties - skimpier, maybe tie string with jewels on them - definately black... Headware - darker... maybe even a red or a rust like the other colors on her - maybe even a skull with cross bones on it - she looks good, no, she looks great!

Excellent work

A great character and nice outfit. The background is fantastic. I love, how the light plays with the shapes. Similar shadows on the character might improve the image. Nevertheless, very well done!

Another excellent image Saskia! The depth of field looks great and really adds to the feel of the image. The lighting is spot on. I'm really liking the background you chose as well... the details (even though they are blurred) are very interesting, but not overpowering to the figure. Also, the shadows that are cast on the background from the rigging add a lot of realism to the scene. As for the character herself, I'll have to agree with mikeerson, keep her around. I'd like to see more images with her. If there are any real suggestions, I'd go with changing the head scarf to match her sash (or at least something in that tonal range), would make it tie in better with the rest of the outfit. The only other thing is the metal parts of the pistol could use some attention. They look very clean, with an almost plastic feel to them. Adding some specular highlights and a reflection map would really make them look more like metal. If you have shaders (or procedural textures) in Carrara that will handle metals, you might want to give them a shot over using traditional texture maps. Can't wait to see what you have in store for us next Hun.

Great work, Sassy! Your Pirate Lass series is a great idea, and your work to date is really something. I have to agree with most everything 'mikeerson' said about the character (being male, I definately agree about the size of the panties ^^) and her clothes should have a darker feel to them, like 'Jack's'. But otherwise, I think its excellent work! Can't wait to see more. 5+ (PS -- I saw in another artists gallery that you hate those simple "Great work!" comments. I tried to give this one a little more substance, but with so many artists work to look at on Rendo and the other sites, sometimes it isn't possible to be overly wordy. I, for one, sometimes just let folks know that I appreciated their work, rather than not comment at all. Please don't think I'm slighting you if I just say "Great work!", I really mean that I thought it was great work, and hopefully, so will the rest of your commenters. ^^)

I'm definitely liking this series, something worth continuing in my opinion. The lighting here is great with the shadows (cast by the rigging) and I agree that the DOF came out great here, adds a whole other level to it. Well done!
