BIO
My love for digital art started about 2001 when I created simple 2D-wallpapers for my Star Wars homepage. I always was annoyed with the picture-material I had, as it never fitted to my needs and I wanted to create more unique images. Searching the net for a program that could solve my problem I found Bryce. Soon I was a member of a Yahoo-group and everybody was talking about Poser..... That was the beginning of my friendship for this wonderful program! Everyday I learn more about this "mysterious" program and I think I'll never learn everything ;o) Hopefully one day I have the chance to build my own digital models, but at the moment I love it to texture models with PhotoImpact. That's it. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me! ~Saskia~
Update 2008
Sorry to say that, but I nigh completely abandoned Poser from my workspace, as I've moved on to Carrara, an application I learned to love and that challenges my intention to finally build my own models. I just have to find a way how and where to start learning....

I really like this image. I have a thing for pirate lads myself, lol! I like the setup as well. The brightness of your lighting highlights the main subject of the picture without losing depth all around. Well done!:)

There is an off camera light source...;) One thing though, maybe add a wee bit of yellow to the lighting to reflect the lamps. I wonder what he's thinking though. Probably the latest duel. Seriously, I'd like to see this one on a deserted beach...:p My son, on the other hand, wants to fight, he's got his pirate gear all ready. Lovely job as usual.

Very provocative pose there! : ) He's a great character. Love the face and hands. Very sensual looking guy. I like the lighting and the background. The costume is perfect.

after reading your in love with this character (lol - it's a good thing) I'm expecting we'll be seeing him in other uploads... I can't wait til you get into making your own bad guys - we've seen the pirate movies where they make the skeletons and sea creature pirates... I'm kinda curious what type of villan you'd design - I bet it'd be awesome... Just my thoughts right now was leaning toward a female villan... the obvious choise for a female villan would be a mermaid... anyword on any more pirate movies coming out?

Well Love, after a huge Thank You like that all I can say is a huge Your Welcome to you. As I've said before, I'm always glad to offer whatever suggestions I can to help anyone improve their work. Granted, I love it when people give me those type of comments too... Now for our lad here... I can see why you'd love him... great job on the character. I really like the "scar" on his left abdomen... give a greater sense of reality to the lad. Also bravo for making him handsome without making him too pretty... again, really adds to the feel of the character. I wouldn't worry about the lighting being too bright for the scene to look correct... first thing I thought was an open hatch over head that would allow sunlight in (and given the area of the ship that he's in, completely possible). Really not much I can see that would detract from the image at all... I still would like to see you make the metal on the pistol look more like metal. The silver part still has the look of plastic to it, as do the rivets on the rack that th cannon is mounted in, but it's really a minor thing in this image, and not a distraction at all. Another excellent bit of work Saskia :)

EXCELLENT JOB! THE CHARACTER AND CLOTHES ARE AMAZING. YOUR BACKGROUND IS PERFECT AND THE HAIR AND POSE IS AWESOME. I HOPE TO SEE MORE!?

LOL, and of course you have him holding onto a big hard cannon... Great addition to the series and he's a great character, definitely worth keeping around. I wouldn't worry about the lighting. There's only so much "realistic" lighting you should be trying for given that you're making a staged still picture. Photoshoots and film sets always have extra lights to help emphasize the people in them, so why not here?

Oh yes, I see you love pirates, and above all highly expressive characters. Very nice pictures!
