Description

Please watch in full size to appreciate the details. Thanks! I read a lot during these last few weeks, something I love to do but haven't done enough, and so I wanted to make an image about the act of reading. This is my second image featuring a reader. My first one was called "The Reader", it was made in February 2007, two months after I started playing with Vue. It's full of technical deficiencies and several things I would do completely different if it was now. Despite that, I still like it so, here's a direct link to it. Who knows, you might like it as well. thumb_1389156.jpg Thanks for watching! EDIT: axolotl2 asked about the tree root. Yes, that's a standard Vue tree (a "Large European Ash", available in C3D). The adjustment between the terrain and the roots was made the old fashioned way: several iterations adjusting the roots in the plant editor and the terrain in the terrain editor until they both match together. No secret, just hard work. :-)

i'm soooooo behind on my comments for you, because i haven't had time lately (recent move, taking a course online for work) to do more than post a few words here or there and i generally have so much to say about your work. but i have to say how much i love this one. it's definitely one of your strongest.

I used to read all the time until my eyes went bad. I still have fond memories of reading books. This is very good work. I don't even know where to start. It shows hard work and inspiration above and beyond the call of art. I would LOVE to have a poster of it on my wall, so I could look at it everyday. I can't say better than that.

It should be a crime to be this good, damn! I'm so glad you made this a BIG render. It is a big deal in this time that, fewer people read, in the old fashion sense of the term. Too many electronics in the world. Too many children playing computer games, listening to iPods, hanging out with the wrong crowds, the list goes on.. Wonderful creation from what we have come to know as a wonderful imagination! Enjoy your days!
