Description
Took my daughter into town to go to the Post Office, it's easier for me to park. There was a spot right outside the door almost. I noticed these two telephone boxes/booths had been painted recently, and they looked bright and cheery in the mid day sun. I don't know the young lady in the shot she just walked into view as I pressed the shutter. Taken through the open window of my car(note right hand drive).

I haven't seen a phone booth in a few years now. There are some phone coves left in buildings but there is no phone equipment left inside...just empty coves. A very good "English" scene.

Ah.. I would love one in my garden! We still have one of these in our village.. bit the grass seems to grow higher and higher round it every year. Wonderful image Jeff, the lighting is lovely! 5+

Phone booths, as we call them here in the states, used to be so common. Now, as PJ said, they're just ugly boxes hanging on walls, IF you can find one!! These are beautiful!!

Recognised it as Rochdale Post Office straight away. They are becoming a rare sight in fact I actually noticed a young lady using one the other day and thought it very unusual for someone not to have a mobile phone with them ! I love these, they took the red ones away by their thousands to replace them years back with the modern booths but I think they are just as rare these days. Great light to the shot Jeff. not a critisism as such but is the box on the right bigger or is it an optical illusion because you can see more of the side to that one? just looks bigger to me lol. Oh and nice model !

You don't see many of those around now! Mobile (cell) phones are killing them off quickly. It's a great capture - very colourful.

in the US telephone boxes are gone at least in Texas.too much vandalism I suppose and quite expensive.it is hard to find a pay phone without going to 7-11.mail boxes are gone pretty much also. excellent capture Jeff

Lovely years gone by English shot, its a shame these are not on their way back in, the new booths are so boring. What did we do before mobiles? Enter one of these and have a good old chat for 10p!
