Description

I have taken this image on Princess Island in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, last year in March when I visited this beautiful city. This particular morning had fairly miserable weather but the afternoon when I headed back to my hotel, it was this beautiful, blue sky day. I took a walk across to Princess Island and captured this rather serene image. It was the coldest temp I have ever had to endure - a mild minus 16 degrees celsius!!! Now - as a South African, that's freaking cold ok!!!!! I vividly remember getting back to the hotel and not beeing able to feel my cheeks and nose!!! I hope all my friends in Southern California are ok after the earthquake that hit on Tuesday and that you and yours were not harmed in any way!!! I am sorry that I am not commenting that regularly at the moment. I have hit my busy season at work and for the next month it is going to be hard to keep up. I will try my best though!!! -16C is far too cold for me! It doesn't usually get much below -7C here, and that's rare. Your photograph is wonderful - it looks really cold! (Oh, yes ... the "studio" is my windowsill.)

Wonder if there's water under the bridge in the summer, since it seems kind of dry in this shot...it does look very cold, makes me long for winter! Lovely shot!

I wonder why the bridge was built, theres no water there just now, very intriguing shot Carin. I can imagine it to be very nice in the summer months, sitting on this sloping grassy bank. Excellent work. Bravo!!!!!

Calgary the only city I know where the weather is so unpredictable that you have to be prepared to dress for winter conditons during the summer and summer conditions in the winter. Brrrrrr, way too cold for me; I shiver when it gets slightly below 70 (farenheit, have no idea what the C equivalent is!!)--at any rate, a great shot, really gives you a feeling of a very chilly day!!
